3D Summit at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistery

Last week I went to the 3D Summit put on by Sirona. It was very interesting seminar. It was all about a new technology of x-rays. It will allow the dentist or dental surgeon to view the upper and lower jaw in 3D. This will improve the ability of the surgeon to view the surgical site. This will decrease the chance of a poor placement of the implant and thus improve the aesthetic result of the restoration.

This seminar gave me 6.5 hours of CE which gives me 32.5 hours of CE for the year.

Progressive Orthodontics 2010 Update

This past weekend I went to Califorina to attend Progressive Orthodontics annual update seminar. Each year the inventor of the IP appliance (Individual Patient Appliance) and the founder of Progressive Orthodontics Seminars present new information to make treatment faster and produce better results. This year the seminar was on dealing with non-cooperative patients. We talked about different treatment techniques that would allow us to get the perfect smile without the use of elastics, the decreased need for orthodontic surgery, decreased time of treatment and the use of less force which will cause less discomfort.

As many of you know I am also an instructor for Progressive Orthodontics. I have been able to teach all over America. This April I will start teaching overseas. I head to Europe and will be heading to Asia in the near future. If at anytime you would like to come on in for an orthodontic consultation, give us a call. All orthodontic consultations are free of charge.

With this weekends course I earned 16 CE hours which brings my CE hours to 26 for the year.

Utah Dental Association Convention

This week was the Utah Dental Convention. The convention was on Thursday and Friday. I was able to attend the convention on Friday. I went to the "Enteral Conscious Sedation Review" This is a seminar that all dentists that provide sedation to their patients must take every 3 years. It was a very good course. Most of it was a review. There were a few nuggets of information that will allow me to treat my adult patients in a more relaxing and comfortable manner. If you are someone looking for a more pleasant dental visit then give us a call because we would love to see you.

As a dentist we are required to receive 30 hours of CE every year. I tend to get a great deal more. So far I have received 10 hours of CE this year.

Seattle Seminar

Last week I had the opportunity to travel to Seattle and teach a one day seminar to 30 dentists. It was a great group of highly educated Doctors. The doctors asked great questions and I was able to open their minds to the world of orthodontics. As you may or may not know, I am an instructor for Progressive Orthodontics. I have been able to travel from coast to coast and also to Asia to teach orthodontics. Teaching has been a wonderful experience. I am able to see many doctors increase their ability to treat all kinds of patients. I see orthodontics as a way to give esthetic treatment without removing healthy enamel.
